Ga kho gung (Vietnamese braised chicken)
Ingredients
- 1 lb dark meat chicken
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 knob of ginger, julienne cut
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp oil
Directions
- Caramelize sugar in pan, stir until brown. Add to bigger pot.
- Add chicken, garlic, onion and ginger, stir 2 minutes.
- Add salt, fish sauce, pepper and water, stir and cover pot with top. Keep on high heat.
- Cook for 15 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked.
